This laptop is very light so be gentle with it. It seems very easy to break because of how light it is. The keys are very soft and I love it. The webcam is very clear and fun to play around with. This laptop revolves around Google and ONLY Google. Hence the Google Chrome browser that comes with it. That's one thing I dislike about it, not being able to download anything other than Google. I'm a gamer and this laptop isn't suitable for games due to not having the right file type but other than that, it is perfect for traveling. I also got confused about downloading apps when I first opened it. The instructions and help papers that comes with it does not explain very well either. It's mostly in Chinese. So when you first open the laptop, it will turn on but logging as a Guest blocks you from downloading anything. Make sure you log in as a user. The shipping was super fast also! I gave it four stars due to not being able to download anything other than Google. BUT I am very happy with this purchase (it was purchased for my younger brother) but again, I love it.

Pros:
Amazing i7: powerful and can handle a lot. Quad-core is awesome. Lots of memory: 1TB, partitioned single 5400rpm hard drive. Sharp screen, for its resolution: Screen and colours look really good. Nice look, feel, and keyboard 8Gbs of RAM is nothing to complain about, and most tasks will never take me over 70% usage. Great Price! In comparison to the $2,000+ Zbook 17 and the $2,000+ MacBook Pro 15" & 17" this is an awesome price-friendly alternative that definitely falls short in some areas, but delivers in most of them.
Cons:

No thunderbolt ports: only USB 3.0 and 2.0, which isn't a huge deal. Hard to customize internal parts, you have to take off the entire backing, and everything is very tightly put together, customizing/replacing/upgrading parts can be difficult. Also not a lot of room for upgrades... Only one hard drive port/space, and the RAM would need to be upgraded to from two 4GBs to two 8Gbs which is pretty expensive. Not 1080 screen, can't want proper 1080HD native, not a huge deal though. Screen looks fine. Bad battery life: I leave this computer plugged in as a desktop basically, so not a big deal, but hard to work while mobile Slow hard drive: And replacing to a SSD is difficult considering there is only room for one hard drive in there, so you would need to backup all media and heavy storage on an external... Which makes working hard while mobile.
If you want this computer for: High-end office work General computer duties (maybe rougher than normal), General gaming (not a great graphics card so won't handle high-end games) and Light video editing Then this computer is awesome, at a far better price than a Macbook Pro/Zbook..

Great player. So I am from the generation of rabbit ears on your TV and getting up to turn the channel, so I have never been a person that has to have the most crystal clear picture...if there is no fuzz on the TV that is good enough for me. I was fine with my DVD player, but I didn't want to be left behind on the technology scene, so I decided to purchase this player. Great value, I didn't want to spend a lot so refurbished was great for me. I even had to borrow a blu-ray from a friend to see how it looked. My DVDs play great on the player so that makes me happy. It came in a nice box, remote, instructions included. It has a nice user friendly menu. The only thing I would want would be included wi-fi capability, but overall, great player.

Great Laptop for its price, Gtx 760 allows you to play almost all games in high settings. I played Assassins creed 4 on high and it was beautiful with no stuttering at all; once i tried it on ultra settings however it started stuttering a bit but no that bad. The SSD makes the computer extremely fast that windows literally starts up in exactly 4 seconds (i counted). of course windows 8 ruins it a little but its not that bad. here are a quick brief on cons and pros.
Pros: SSD makes your computer super fast, a very good deal considering the price and components, The Laptop NEVER gets hot ( i played AC4 for 5 straight hours on high setting and the laptop is still cool to the touch.
Cons: No back-lit Keyboard but i think the keys are made so that you can still see them in the dark, a little heavy but that's what you would expect from a 17" gaming laptop, Lots of Bloatware but i don't really mind since uninstalling them doesn't take anytime.
All in all it's a very good laptop for it's price (999.99$ but it may get more expensive since its on a sale) if you are on a budget and want a good gaming laptop that can handle the most demanding games

I bought this computer because I have had horrible experiences with HPs and couldnt afford a Macbook so i went around looking for a good cheap computer. I found this one here on Amazon. When I got this computer i was quickly surprised of the wieght (my past computer was almost 9 pounds). I thought this wouldnt have a backlit keyboard but as soon as I turned it on it lit up. The sound on this is as good and clear as the Beats Audio on my past laptop. This computer does not come with a cd drive but I dont use it much anyway. The keyboard is great and is a also a full keyboard. The touch screen for Windows 8 is great for many things and it is very responsive. The touchpad resemble the design of macbook it is a little sensative but you learn to quickly realize how to keep it from bouncing around but works most of the time. I love the design its thin and the metal finish inside is very nice. The power button is on the left side which is wierd but dont matter and some port are on the back. So far I have had this for a week and I LOVE IT! From the time i press the on button to the time it comes the login screen took me 10 seconds which is perfect! I will update in a month or more!

First off, I'm a die hard AMD/ATi user. Always have, always will. Mainly due to the bang-for-buck experience. Don't fret because it's only a quad core, the APU (not CPU) in these is designed differently than a CPU and work pretty damn good for games! I typically run two screens, but due to ports on the back, I can run 3 w/ ease! Pro's ~First off, for a $500 laptop (give or take, depending where you purchase it), this is an EXCELLENT buy for gaming or other! ~Plays EVE/WOW with ease, graphics on high! Checking FPS it's showing between 52-62 FPS, even under stress while having the game going (downloads in back ground, multi boxing, etc) the lowest I saw with graphics on high was maybe 28 FPS. ~Battery last slightly longer than advertised (I stripped all the Acer Software off, and other preloaded software). ~Screen contrast & color is bright and vibrant for this laptop. ~Doesn't take up much space, very thin, but don't be fooled. It has great cooling properties (I'd still recommend a laptop cooler). ~HDD is a SATA 3, 5400rpm 6Gb/s drive Con's ~Built in Battery. ~No Optical Drive (CD Rom). Summary ~BUY IT!

The back-lit keyboard is perfect. I bought this after going through the Dell 15R, and Lenovo GS500. Processing speed is ok. However, get an external mouse handy at all times. Trackpad, while large, is not as smooth as it looks. Vertical/horizontal scroll is very spotty. Only works about 15% of the time. I've gone through blogs that suggest update the driver, which I did. It still has the issue.

I recieved this laptop, and it is very well designed and I was very excited to start using it, but sadly I was not able to do so. After putting the battery in and plugging the lap top in, I proceeded to turn the laptop on and the screen was non responsive. So first I will say I am coming from a MacBook air 11' mid 2011 with 2GB ram and 64GB harddrive. This one I got has 4GB of ram and 128GB harddrive. I use this laptop mainly for browsing the internet and some programming. Now that you have a little background Ill give a quick review.
From the get go this laptop is MUCH faster then my previous Macbook air. When you open the lid you are ready to go that second. On the old one I would have to wait a little for it to load and if I left chrome up and clicked on it right away then I would get the loading wheel. I havent seen this do it once. That could be because of the harddrive being so much faster.
When I opened the box the laptop was already charged to 91% so im trying to kill it. Well I was on it ALL NIGHT last night and now its the morning and its only at 60%. That battery life is amazing and let me honest thats what we ask for in a laptop.
If you are up in the air about this laptop(no pun intended). I would say give it a go. You could even buy it from the Apple store and if you dont like it just return it.
If you are replacing an older Macbook air and have one thats because the mid 2012 then I would say get it but if you have the mid 2012 I dont know if I would suggest spending the money unless you really want battery. I hope this helps anyone trying to purchase this laptop.

I purchased this laptop to replace a Samsung that was always having difficulties. I researched higher performance laptops for a few weeks before making a decision. I read the reviews of similar laptops on this site as well as others. I struggled with the decision to move to a Windows 8 system. I read so many reviews of similar laptops that began with the phrase "nice laptop but Windows 8 is dragging my ratings down" or "it would be ok if it did not have Windows 8". I also struggled with the type of screen debate, touch or non-touch type screens. In the end, after speaking with my brother who owns both a touchscreen and non-touchscreen Windows 8 computer, I went with this touchscreen model
I received the laptop, as promised, on New Years Eve. Keep in mind that I am far from a "techie" when it comes to computers. After unpacking the well protected laptop, I plugged it in and powered it up. After doing the setup dance, with no issues, I went to work installing my older MS Office 2007 onto the hard drive. This also went well, not one issue during the install. I have not installed my flight simulation software yet but I do not expect any problems.

I have used the laptop for some everyday MS Office chores and various Internet adventures. So far, not a single issue. The WiFi works better than either of my last two laptops. It even works well with only a one bar signal. I downloaded several updates to my software packages and utilities. They all installed with no issues.
Now to the Windows 8 debate. I have migrated through the Microsoft Windows jungle since the earliest Windows. The last three laptops were 2 Vista's and a Windows 7
